Recover from the Holiday Season

The holiday season of over-indulgence is over . . . it is a new year and time to get back to simple basics. And, in keeping things simple, here are 4 steps toward rejuvenation and renewal in this New Year:

  1. Eat right: The sugar-laden holidays are over! Throw out the left-over sweets if you have to ... reduce the temptation to finish the last bite! Add fresh "live" fruits and vegetables to your meals. Include lean protein and essential fats.
  2. Exercise: Get back into an exercise program! It is a great way to strengthen your immune system.
  3. Get a good night's sleep: Get back to a regular bedtime. Eat a lighter meal before bedtime. A full night's sleep allows your body time to repair and recharge!
  4. Drink plenty of water: Winter is a dry season (inside all day with forced heated air blowing on you) and your body needs hydration.
