Winter Drink

Healthy Warming Winter Drink

Over indulgence produces those unwanted pounds in January! It is not too difficult to enjoy the holiday foods AND pay attention to what you eat.

Your body needs plenty of water in winter. This benefits circulation of the blood and Warming Winter Drink lymph in removing excess from the body. Warming herbal teas (ginger, peppermint, cinnamon) soothe the chills and stir the circulation without the caffeine jitters.

Warming Winter Drink:
Wash one grapefruit and cut in 1/4 pieces.

Fill 1-quart saucepan with 1 to 2 cups of water

Squeeze juice from grapefruit pieces into water, then add rind/pulp

Simmer on low heat until hot, but not boiling

Pour grapefruit drink into a mug

Add 1 to 2 teaspoons honey and pinch of cayenne powder

Sip slowly.
