Good Tasting, Healthy Salad

Healthy Salad

Take an ordinary fresh mixed green salad (no iceberg lettuce) and give it a blast of nutrition by adding some of these ingredients:

Salad
  • White beans, kidney beans (cooked), or edamame
  • Sliced avocado
  • Black olives
  • Diced, fresh red pepper
  • Boiled egg slices
  • Pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds
  • Walnuts
  • Fresh tomato or onion slices, shredded carrot or red beet
  • Include cilantro or parsley in your mixed greens
  • Slices of grilled chicken, salmon or lean beef
  • Go LIGHTLY on the salad dressing if used
